Corey and I decided to venture into the country today as we made our way to the famous Covered Bridge Festival in Bridgeton, IN. Apparently this is a big deal around here this time of year, and I swear we got scolded by swarms of people last year for not attending! So we decided to see what all the fuss was about. Our GPS decided to take us on a route that involved gravel roads for a big part of the trip, and we began to wonder if we would ever find our way out alive. Plus, we almost hit 2 flying turkeys with our car on the way there and on the way back. The festival was everything we imagined it would be- lots of great people watching, dogs with outfits and special carriers (I even saw a man carrying a small dog in one of those chest type baby carriers!), tents filled with rows and rows of junk and old stuff, and lots of foods that will guarantee you a heart attack in a few years- deep fried this and that (Corey even had his deep friend 3 Musketeer bar), popcorn, ribbon fries, ice cream, turkey legs, etc. It was definitely an experience. And of course we walked on the covered bridge, because how could you go to the Covered Bridge Festival without doing that?
It was a fun day, and we will definitely go back next year....we might as well get used to these small town excitements, because chances are that my next appointment will be somewhere a lot like Bridgeton! ;)

Sounds fun! We may have to come out for that one if you guys come in for the State Fair. We can split all the junk food :)
