Hope Floats

No, not the movie (although it is one of my favorites)...but still fitting...HOPE...it does float- sometimes it takes its time, weaving in and out of our lives, sometimes distant, sometimes making an appearance right in front of you, and those are the most wonderful times.  It is a time such as this that I share with you now- hope in the form of Corey finally getting a full time job as the program officer at the Community Foundation of Morgan County!  We were on vacation with my family in southern CA 2 weeks ago when he got the news, and our celebrations continued throughout the rest of our week there!  We had a fantastic time in CA seeing my sister and her husband, my mom and dad- the weather was great, we had some wonderful food, wine tastings, spa day, and Corey and my dad went for a drive on the Pacific Coast Highway in a BMW convertible one day.  It was good times all around!

But though vacation excitement is short lived, the excitement of a long stretch of unemployment finally coming to an end is enduring.  The stress of the past year was really starting to build up at our house, in our marriage, and through other aspects of our lives, and the strain was not good for either of us.  But only one week in and our energy, especially Corey's, is very high and very positive.  I feel good in what I'm doing at the church, Corey is feeling good about his job, and there is a sense that we are both contributing something to this world, which is really the most important thing to feel at this point.  It feels good to be on a new adventure where we both are playing a key role.

To those who have been with us along this tough journey, thanks for your listening ears, your encouragement, and your support. Cheers to new journeys!

Some family pictures from our CA trip!
