Or more important even...as everyone else that is making your wedding happen. Therefore, skipping a Saturday morning appointment "just because" or "it slipped your mind" is not acceptable. Guess what? Pastors don't usually come in early on Saturday mornings to meet with people. But we will if it's the only time available for you. We will if we think you will be responsible enough to show up and/or call if something happens and you can't make it. Our time matters just as much as yours does. Would you miss a meeting with your caterer, florist, or wedding planner without telling them? And they might even charge you if you do. We don't. We just ask that you hold us to as high of standard as anyone else involved in your wedding.
Respect our time and energy that goes into the wedding madness. We are just as important.

Dear Bride & Groom,
The legality of your wedding is held in the signature of the minister on the marriage license. Keep them on your good side.
Amen- love it!
I get where you're coming from and I'm sympathetic that it happened to you, but speaking as a wedding florist with friends in catering, dress shops, decor, etc, the answer to your question of "Would you miss a meeting with your florist, caterer, etc?" is YES. ALL THE TIME. Twice, just this week alone, to me.
Yes, because they forgot. Yes, because another appointment ran over. Yes, yes, and YES, all the time. Yes, even if we charge for a missed appointment. Yes, even when we've come in at a special time. Yes, even if it means that vendor may no longer work with you if you skip. Yes, because (and this is my favorite) they decided to go with a different vendor, and they "just didn't know how to tell you." So they just didn't show.
So take heart that you are definitely not alone in feeling like you sometimes get left out or that you are not as important as other people. I've found that it's not the vendor, it's the bride- if they're respectful of the times of one, they're respectful to all, if they're a ditz to one, they're usually a ditz to all!
