The Screaming Child...and Baptism

I baptized an infant today....she screamed and cried the entire time. I know that God's grace was just as present as it would have been if she was a perfect little angel, but all I could think about was, "Tell me again what's so appealing about having babies??"

It was also a reminder of how important God's love is for us- more important than how we come before God, more important that everything going perfectly...it was a reminder that our life is full of screaming and crying times, but that God is still present...

Thank you, God, that you give us your perfect grace even before we can recognize it, even when we are screaming children...

Thank you also, God, for putting me on this earth during a time when women can choose whether or not to have children!
