Corey and I went to Chicago this past weekend for my uncle's "surprise wedding." It was a surprise to everyone except the family coming in from out of town for the event. To everyone else, it was just a back yard party with food, and music, (this is the same uncle who busted out "Wooly Bully" at our wedding, remember!) He even gave us an "encore" presentation of the song...haha...
So went drove up on Friday afternoon, and what was supposed to be a 4 hour trip ended up being almost 6 hours after we got stuck in construction, got off of the interstate to take back roads, and then getting stuck in rush hour traffic...but we finally made it to our little bed and breakfast and then quickly took a cab to this really nice restaurant downtown where
Then on Sunday, Corey and I slept in, and then we met one of my college friends for some Chicago style pizza, which Corey actually blogged about recently...he was so excited. We had a good time catching up and having some good pizza...and then we drove home, which only took us a little over 3 hours this time. We even passed a windmill "farm" on the way home on SR 41. I was very intrigued by this! All in all, a fun weekend, and very busy!
